BAKER CITY – (Release from the Baker County Sheriff’s Office
Update (7/13/22 7:14 a.m.)
A juvenile has been taken into custody. There is no threat to the community. The Major Crime Team and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab continue to investigate this incident. Updates will be provided as they become available.
Previous:
On July 13, 2022 at approximately 12:25 a.m., Baker County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a report of a shooting in the parking lot of Baker Technical Institute. The reporting party indicated that the suspect fled the area.
Baker City Police officers responded to the scene. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel located a male juvenile with a gunshot wound. Lifesaving efforts were attempted but were unsuccessful. A female juvenile was also located at the scene unharmed. The Major Crime Team, consisting of Baker City Police Department, Oregon State Police and Baker County Sheriff’s Office, was activated.
The Oregon State Police Crime Lab continued to work throughout the evening processing the scene. Oregon State Police and the Major Crime Team are actively investigating this incident. There is no danger to the public at this time.
