PASCO – Franklin County Sheriff Jim Raymond will be making recommendations to the Board of Commissioners to upgrade the exterior surveillance cameras at the Franklin County Courthouse immediately.
Raymond’s request comes after he said a man staggered up to the security courthouse in the early morning hours last week and vomited blood near the front door. Raymond said It is unknown if the man had been assaulted or was having a medical emergency as deputies have not been able to locate the him.
“I will be making recommendations to the commissioners that we immediately upgrade our exterior camera systems for better campus security, and for investigation purposes,” Raymond said.
Efforts are underway to install blue phones in the public area of the courthouse that directly dial 911 at the push of a button.
