JOHN DAY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently. In between talking about criminal activity and fire safety, the Sheriff had a bit of a lighter message for Grant County folks. He encourages people to enjoy the county and help out where you can:

“I love the recreation opportunities around here, we have some of the most beautiful vistas that you can get. Being around this county I feel fortunate to get out there and see those, sometimes on a daily basis.

Enjoy the upcoming events. You know, go out there, have fun, be a part of it. If you want a good fair; if you want a good event—be a part of it.”

The 113th Grant County Fair officially kicks off tomorrow, Wednesday, August 10th. Today is weigh-in day for youth with livestock exhibits. For more fair information, log on to grantcountyoregon.net. To volunteer, call the Fair Office at (541) 575-1900.
