JOHN DAY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley informed KJDY listeners today that Mike Alley with the Grant County Jail has recently retired:

“We want to congratulate Mike Alley for exemplary service. He’ll still be around the community. Great job, great career. Started there February 1st of 2000—he did a lot of our transports in the early years—he was our transport guy. Did that safely and got it done well.”

The Sheriff also mentioned that Sergeant Danny Komning will be going to work for Oregon State Police soon, and another deputy would soon be going to work for the Grant County Road Department. Sheriff McKinley has held recent meetings with the Grant County Court regarding how to move forward with a shortage in personnel. The Sheriff said he’d keep our newsroom updated.
