KENNEWICK – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement published on its Facebook page Thursday that it does not have a vaccine mandate as a condition of employment. The county government also does not have a vaccine mandate for its employees, contractors, and volunteers.
During an agency-wide meeting Wednesday, Sheriff Tom Croskrey emphasized the Benton County Sheriff’s Office agrees with this approach.
Croskrey has also shared that he has chosen to be vaccinated and feels the vaccine is safe. However, he stated that he believes being vaccinated is a personal choice, therefore, he will not mandate sheriff’s office personnel be vaccinated.
