Sheriff Ash completes swearing-in for employees

BAKER COUNTY โ€“ Baker County Sheriff Travis Ash completed the swearing-in process for employees of the Baker County Sheriffโ€™s Office earlier this week.  According to the sheriffโ€™s office, during the ceremony, Baker County Sheriffโ€™s Office Corrections Corporals and Deputies were recognized for their role in achieving a perfect score on the Oregon State Sheriffsโ€™ Association correctional facility audit process that was concluded in late 2020.

Deputies participated in and supported the implementation and compliance of the Oregon State Sheriffsโ€™ Association voluntary best jail practices in accordance with the Oregon Jail Standards set in 2000.  According to the sheriffโ€™s office, this was no small feat and required dedication and hard work. For their efforts, the Corrections Lieutenant, Corporals and Deputies were presented with the Baker County Sheriffโ€™s Office Challenge Coin. These coins are awarded to Baker County Sheriffโ€™s Office employees or citizens that have demonstrated exemplary performance or for a single heroic act. Prior to this ceremony, three Baker County Sheriffโ€™s Office Challenge Coins have been awarded.
