LA GRANDE – Shelter From the Storm, Union County’s local victim advocacy and support group, is hosting its first annual summer gala fundraiser, “An Evening Under the Stars.”
As listed on their official Eventbrite page, “We are bringing together local Union County businesses and artist to create a one-of-a-kind Gala in order to support folks in our community that are experiencing domestic violence, stalking or sexual assault. We hope to make this our flagship fundraiser going forward and we hope to have your support and see you at the event.
Some things you can look forward too: local live music and dancing, a top end dinner featuring your choice of prime rib or fresh salmon, indoor and outdoor dining and community mingling by the fireside, a full-service bar provided by Bud Jackson’s, and a fun engaging live auction as well as a silent auction featuring our beloved local potter’s art as well as many other local favorites.”
All proceeds from the event will go towards funding repairs and refurbishment of Shelter From the Storm’s victim safehouse along with helping fund their crisis line services and community outreach efforts. The safehouse was recently broken into with various stolen in addition to an ongoing roof leak issue.
An Evening Under the Stars will run from 5:30 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. Saturday August 6 at the Ascension School Camp & Conference Center in Cove. Tickets are $60 with sales ending July 31.
