JOHN DAY/BURNS – A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for Grant and Harney Counties. 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail are possible now through 7 p.m. on May 1st. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. * Until 700 PM PDT.

* At 554 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 19 miles east of
  Silvies, or 30 miles southeast of John Day, moving north at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  John Day, Prairie City, Canyon City, Long Creek, Granite, Bates,

FOR NORTHEASTERN HARNEY COUNTY...

At 550 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Battle
Mountain, or 31 miles northeast of Burns, moving north at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

This severe storm will be near...
  Van around 600 PM PDT.
