WALLOWA, OR – This past weekend a prom was held for Wallowa County students and since then there have been number of individuals attending the prom have tested positive for COVID-19. Local health officials have begun contact tracing and will be contacting individuals who will need to quarantine for the 14-day period. Tammy Jones Superintendent of Wallowa School District said is not closing the schools as a result of the exposure. Given that the district implemented small grade level cohorts, practiced social distancing, and ensured the wearing of masks, only those with direct contact will have to quarantine. Jones also stated that parents and students will be kept updated as new information becomes available.
