Seven more face charges in group attack

WALLA WALLA – Charges have been formally filed against seven males, two of whom are minors, who allegedly were involved in an attack on the 200 block of Prospect Avenue last month.

Walla Walla County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jennine Christensen has filed three counts of first-degree assault, one count of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree burglary and one count of criminal mischief against the two minors, ages 16 and 17, as well as against Jeremiah A. Thompkins, 18, of Pendleton, Habukkuk A. Thompkins, 20, of Pendleton, Santiago R. Lara, 20, of Milton-Freewater, Ira O. Toledo, 20, of Pendleton, and Carlos R. Johnson Jr., 21, of Pendleton.

All seven are accused of joining Charles Thompkins Jr., 63, of Pendleton, in going to Walla Walla on July 5 to confront people Thompkins accused of stealing a vehicle from him. According to court documents, shots were fired, and a fight broke out which resulted in three people being injured.

Thompkins was arrested Sunday, Aug. 8 in Walla Walla. He’s currently being held in the Walla Walla County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
