Seven EOU Athletes Earn Women’s Daktronics Scholar-Athlete Honors

LA GRANDE – (Information from La Grande School District) EOU students are proving that smarts and strength go hand in hand, as seven more athletes, six basketball players and one wrestler, have earned NAIA Daktronics Honors. For the wrestler, Anjelynn Baron, EOU released:

“The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022-23 Daktronics NAIA Women’s Wrestling Scholar-Athletes with 100 student-athletes recognized. This winter, 27 institutions placed wrestlers onto the list. Eastern Oregon had one grappler make the list, senior Anjelynn Baron.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.”

For the basketball players, EOU issued their own release:

“The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2022-23 Daktronics NAIA Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athletes with 873 student-athletes recognized. Eastern Oregon had six players earn the honor.
 
EOU tied with College of Idaho, Corban University, Northwest University, and Southern Oregon University to lead the conference with six representatives.
