Serious injury crash shuts down Highway 12

WALLA WALLA COUNTY – A crash has left a Walla Walla man suffering from serious injuries when his vehicle collided with a combine in Woodward Canyon this morning (Sunday) a little before 6:30 a.m. The highway was closed for hours and the investigation by Washington State Patrol is continuing.

The vehicle was eastbound three miles east of Touchet when it left the roadway, over-corrected, crossed the center line and struck the combine. Mycheal R. Summers, 31, of Walla Walla was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. WSP states that charges against Summers are pending.

Darren Z. Goble, 55, of Touchet, the operator of the combine,  was not injured in the crash.
