PENDLETON – Several residents in Pendleton experienced a loss of power due to a semi-truck striking a power pole in the 500 block of South Main Street on Tuesday night.

Pendleton Police Department says their officers responded to the area at around 8:53 p.m. to the report of the truck striking the pole, and that the driver was attempting to flee the scene. During their investigation into the incident, they learned the driver had fled the scene due to the large amount of people surrounding his truck and yelling at him.

Pacific Power responded and fixed the power pole issue. They said 330 residents had power restored within the hour, the remaining residents had their power restored at around 3:30 a.m.

Pendleton Police say the case will be sent to the appropriate prosecutorial body for review of any charges against those involved.
