SEIU Organize local informational picket amidst collective bargaining mediation

LA GRANDE – Eastern Oregon University confirmed that the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) organized an informational picketing event for Thursday, February 8, on campus. The SEIU, who represent EOU’s classified staff, scheduled the event for between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in The Quad on EOU’s La Grande campus.

According to EOU, the picketing takes place during ongoing collective bargaining mediation between Oregon’s public universities and the SEIU. Elkhorn Media Group reached out to the SEIU for comment on the picketing event but, as of the time of writing, have not received a response.
