Second measles case confirmed in Walla Walla County

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Department of Community Health says there’s a second confirmed case of measles in the county, coming from an unvaccinated resident who was exposed during international travel.
Officials say the individual was in the county during their contagious period and that further cases are possible. So far, they’ve identified one public exposure site at Le Dang’s Mongolian Grill in Walla Walla on April 20 from noon to 3 p.m.
The measles incubation period is typically 7 to 21 days, meaning that anyone exposed during that time could experience symptoms between April 27 and May 18.
The first case in the county was reported on April 3. There have been 39 confirmed cases in Washington this year.
