BURBANK – The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office reports a search warrant was executed Tuesday on a suspected illegal horse racing operation on a ranch near Burbank following an investigation lasting more than two years.
Deputies and detectives from the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office, agents from the Washington State Gambling Commission and the United States Department of Agriculture, along with officers from the Walla Walla Police Department were all part of serving the search warrant.
Agents developed information that the ranch was being used for horse racing that included accepting illegal wagers along with other suspected illegal gambling on site, according to WWCSO Chief Deputy Richard Schram.
“We would like to thank our partner agencies who helped to take action and safely complete this warrant service,” he said.
Further details will be released as the investigation continues.
