COVE – Union County Search and Rescue (SAR) were activated for a lost hiker in the moss springs area outside of Cove over the weekend. According to Search and Rescue, the Oregon Department of Forestry’s (ODF) fire recon flight operated by Butler Aircraft and staffed by spotter and SAR volunteer Willy Crippen was in the area and began searching and assisting teams deploying in the field.
The lost hiker found her way out to SAR teams and the incident resolved quickly.
Crews say they are incredibly grateful for partner agencies such as ODF and their willingness to assist!
