UPDATE: The defense attorney for Tyler Schachtsick requested and received a continuance in the sentencing hearing scheduled for this morning. Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus said he’s not sure when it will be held.

PENDLETON – Tyler Schachtsick, 32, of Pendleton will be sentenced this morning (Friday) after pleading guilty for his involvement in the robbery and assault last month that begin at the Rugged Country Lodge.

Umatilla County District Attorney Dan Primus said the settlement conference followed one with another co-defendant in the case, Anthony Haigh of Stanfield. Haigh was sentenced to 140 months.

“Tyler Schachtsick has pled guilty to robbery in the second degree as well as kidnap in the second degree, similar to that of Anthony Haigh,” Primus said.

There will be no chance of parole with the sentences for Haigh and Schachtsick under current law.

“They are Measure 11 sentences, so they are day-for-day sentences,” Primus said. “It is just four months shy of a 12-year sentence.”

Primus said the other two co-defendants in the case are still on pretrial status. Both Whitney Anderson and Deva Marthaller have waived their rights to trial within 60 days.
