(Press Release from Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley)

Recently there has been a large amount of fraud calls with persons portraying themselves as FBI Agents contacting residents of the County about various legal issues.

This is a scam.

The number that the callers have been using appears to be the Sheriff’s Office number, and they can call from numbers that appear to be your family, friends, or co-workers. The scammers are conducting research on you or your business online before they make the calls.

Simply hang up. Do not keep them on the phone. Do not volunteer any information, and if possible, write down the number they are calling from.

Please stop taking calls from these predators. They are using emotions and fear to financially harm and destroy lives.
