Scam letters sent out to some residence

WALLOWA COUNTY – (Information provided by the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office) Some of you may be receiving letters from MetaBank about an unclaimed check in your name. We have been informed most of these letters are a scam. Please be careful about providing your personal information to agencies/banks, etc., who contact you by mail or phone. You should always be a little wary of letters or phone calls asking for your social security number.
