SCAM ALERT attention concealed handgun license holders

HARNEY COUNTY-There is a statewide scam targeting concealed Handgun License holders. The scam entails a text message that prompts one to “renew” or “update” their Handgun License. This is a phishing scam and any messages received like this should be immediately deleted. Do not follow any links or reply to the messages.

The only way you can renew or update your Handgun License with Harney County Sheriff’s Office is by applying in person and by appointment only. We will not reach out to you via text!
