BAKER COUNTY – Throughout the month of March, the Baker County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), in partnership with Oregon Impact, will be conducting additional saturation patrols to keep roadways safe. According to BCSO the goal of this is to save lives. They are asking all drivers to remain alert, watch for speed limit signs and obey those signs, especially in school zones, residential neighborhoods and on secondary roads.
According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, in 45% of fatal crashes, the drivers of passenger vehicles were engaged in at least one of the following risky behaviors: speeding, alcohol impairment, or not wearing a seat belt.
