BAKER CITY – (Release from Saint Alphonsus Medical Center) Dr. Samuel Capra, MD and Jacki Adams, DNP have joined Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Baker City and are providing orthopedic and family medicine care to residents of Baker City and surrounding communities in northeastern Oregon.
Dr. Capra brings more than 30 years’ experience to Saint Alphonsus. He comes to Baker City from the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Florida, where he specialized in orthopedic surgery, sports injuries and knee and hip injuries. He has also practiced at hospitals in Anderson, SC, Reno and Truckee, CA. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Davis and did his internship and residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He also completed a fellowship in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON, Canada. Dr. Capra is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Jacki Adams earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. A Baker City native, she previously worked as an Intensive Care Nurse at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Baker City. “We’re so pleased to welcome Dr. Capra and Jacki to the team,” said Dina Ellwanger, President of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center – Baker City. “Both are outstanding professionals who will provide our community with exceptional care close to home.
