BAKER CITY – (Release from Saint Alphonsus) While the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is lifting its masking requirement for healthcare facilities effective April 3, Saint Alphonsus Health System continues to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance on masking in healthcare settings. Saint Alphonsus considers community transmission levels in a county for when colleagues, patients and visitors need to be masked.
Currently, all Saint Alphonsus clinics and hospitals require masking for colleagues, patients, and visitors in public- and patient-facing areas, including patient rooms and hallways. Recently, we have seen improvements in the data, including in the Oregon counties where our facilities are located. We are hopeful this trend continues and will adjust masking policies when possible.
