BAKER CITY โ€“ (Release from Sain Alphonsus) The Saint Alphonsus Foundation has announced a transformative $250,000 donation to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center โ€“ Baker City, providing funding for advanced surgical equipment that will expand and enhance the hospitalโ€™s surgical services.

This investment marks a significant milestone in the hospitalโ€™s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. With the addition of state-of-the-art surgical technologyโ€”including two laparoscopic light sources, cameras, and consoles, the medical center will be better equipped to perform general surgery cases such as hernia repairs, gallbladder and appendix removal, lipoma removal, and breast biopsies.

These upgrades will enable the hospital to offer a broader range of procedures, reduce wait times, and improve patient outcomes throughout Baker County and the surrounding region.  โ€œThis generous gift from the Saint Alphonsus Foundation is a powerful investment in the health of our community,โ€ said Tony Swart, Baker City Administrator. โ€œIt allows us to bring more advanced surgical care to Baker City, so patients can receive the treatment they need without having to travel far from home.โ€

The upgraded equipment will support the hospitalโ€™s skilled surgical team in providing more efficient and precise care, while also helping to attract and retain top medical talent. For many patients, this means staying close to family and support systems during critical times in their healthcare journey.

The donation was made possible through the leadership and dedication of the Saint Alphonsus Foundation โ€“ Baker City Board Members: Angela Robb, Julie Davis, Jill Welter, Debbie Poe, Jessica Hill, and Adam Berry. Their commitment to improving local healthcare continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of patients and families in the region.

โ€œThe Foundation is proud to support the growth of surgical services in Baker City,โ€ said Angela Robb, Foundation Board Chair. โ€œWe believe that everyone deserves access to exceptional care, no matter where they live. This donation reflects our deep commitment to the people of Baker County.โ€

The Saint Alphonsus Foundation continues to play a vital role in advancing healthcare across the region. Through philanthropic partnerships and community support, the Foundation helps ensure that rural hospitals like Saint Alphonsus Medical Center โ€“ Baker City remain equipped to meet the evolving needs of their communities.
