WALLA WALLA – The 2021 session of the Washington Legislature began yesterday (Monday) in Olympia. In the House of Representatives, most of the lawmakers are returning home, but 30 will remain for the duration of the session.
The 30, 15 from each party, will be isolated in their offices in Olympia. They are not allowed to meet in person with staff, lobbyists, or constituents.
One of the lawmakers staying in the capitol is Rep. Skyler Rude of Walla Walla. Other Republican lawmakers who are staying in the capital include Rep. Jim Walsh of Aberdeen, House Minority Leader J.T. Wilcox of Yelm, and Rep. Andrew Barkis of Olympia.
