OLYMPIA – Rep. Skyler Rude (R-Walla Walla) is inviting students aged 14 to 16 in the 16th Legislative District to apply for the Washington State House Page Program. Applications are open until Feb. 20, 2026, or until all spots are filled. The legislative session runs from Jan. 12 to March 12, and there are nine available opportunities.
Being a page is a chance to learn about the legislative process and make lasting connections. Pages work a 40-hour week, assisting legislative offices by distributing materials, delivering messages, and participating in ceremonial duties. They also attend Page School to understand the work of legislators in Olympia. Pages receive $65 per day and earn 20 hours of community service credit.
To participate, applicants need parental consent, must be between 14 and no older than 17 years old at the time of paging, and obtain a teacher recommendation (except for home-schooled students). Students can only serve as a page once in either the House or Senate.
Financial aid for travel and housing is available through the Gina Grant Bull Memorial Legislative Page Scholarship, which does not affect acceptance into the program. Scholarship applications are due two weeks before the paging week. Students can apply at https://app.leg.wa.gov/pageapplication/ and for help, they can contact Rude’s office at (360) 786-7828 or Skyler.Rude@leg.wa.gov.
