News release from the Pendleton Round-Up Association:

LAS VEGAS – By way of vote amongst members of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), the Pendleton Round-Up Association was once again named the LARGE OUTDOOR RODEO COMMITTEE OF THE YEAR at the annual PRCA Awards Banquet, Wednesday evening December 1, 2021, in Las Vegas, NV.

“There is no higher honor than to be recognized by cowboy contestants, contract personnel and fellow rodeo committees,” said the Pendleton Round-Up Publicity Director Pat Reay. “It is because of the dedication of many volunteers, staff, sponsors, fans, the community and loyal supporters that the Round-Up has been able to be recognized by our peers in the rodeo industry.”

As an 8X recipient of the nod, the Pendleton Round-Up scooped up the award in 2003, 2010 (during its centennial year), 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 (five consecutive years) and now again in 2021.

“To be crowned again in 2021 after not being able to host an event in 2020 is bittersweet and something we cherish and hold in the highest regard,” said Pendleton Round-Up Past President Randy Bracher. “We are very proud to bring this award home to our community; to the people who have helped build and shape the traditions and authenticity that make this an event like no other in the world.”

Pendleton Round-Up contract service providers also fared well at the annual PRCA Awards Banquet with nominations for the following award categories: Announcers of the Year, Wayne Brooks; Clown of the Year, Justin Rumford; Bullfighters of the Year, Nate Jestes and Dusty Tuckness; Comedy Act of the Year, Matt Merritt; Photographers of the Year, Roseanna Sales, Clay Guardipee and the late Bob Click; Pickup Man of the Year, Matt Twitchell; Secretary of the Year, Haley Bridwell and Timer of the Year, Molly Jane Twitchell.

Justin Rumford won “Clown of the Year” for his 10th time. Matt Twitchell was named the Pickup Man of the year for his second time and his wife Molly Twitchell was named one of the two PRCA Timer of the Year; and the Pendleton Round-Up was one of five rodeos to be nominated for the “Hesston Sowing Good Deeds” Award.
