PENDLETON – The Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon will heed all state and local public health mandates and guidelines as it kicks off a week of events Saturday. All volunteers, contractors, and employees are required to wear masks when not actively involved in their events.
Guests aged 5 and older will be requested to wear a mask. Organizers ask people to bring their own masks, as only a limited supply is available. Per state guidelines, those who are eating or drinking are not subject to the mask requirement.
People attending will not be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.
“We encourage those who don’t feel comfortable being around large crowds of people to please stay home and join us next year,” a news release states.
Round-Up and Happy Canyon have added additional hand sanitizing and hand washing stations; has posted signage around both arenas; increased the presence of medical personnel and ambulance coverage; and increased the size and coverage of the medical room.
