HELLS CANYON – (Release from Idaho Power) Motorists in Hells Canyon should be prepared for brief delays over the next several weeks while crews perform annual road maintenance on Idaho Power’s road between Oxbow and Hells Canyon dams.
Crack sealing Began Wednesday, June 7, and will last about two weeks.
Chip sealing is scheduled for Aug. 6 through 31.
Ongoing rock work on the cliff along the road is also requiring some brief traffic stops. Crews will move from their current location downstream to mile 12.3, just before Big Bar. Work there will run from June 12 to approximately July 22.
Idaho Power asks drivers to use extra caution in the area this summer and watch for traffic cones, flaggers and other motorists.
