BAKER COUNTY — The Baker County Road Department has announced the resumption of fog seal work on Old Wingville Road, Wingville Lane, and Pocahontas Road from August 5th to August 8th. The project was previously delayed due to recent wildfires.

Travelers can expect temporary detours and delays during this period. The road department advises that motorists should anticipate up to 20-minute delays, reduced speeds, and flaggers directing single-lane traffic through the work zones. Drivers are encouraged to reduce speed and remain vigilant for construction activities in the area. If possible, alternate routes should be used to avoid the work zone.

Pedestrian access, including for individuals with disabilities, will be maintained through or around the work zones.

Ranchers, farmers, and property owners are urged to keep farm equipment off the impacted road sections during the fog sealing and for up to two days afterward. Additionally, they should adjust irrigation pivots and lawn sprinklers to prevent water from running onto the roadway. Those planning to move livestock in these areas are advised to do so early in the morning when temperatures are cooler and to notify the Road Department at 541-523-6417.

The Road Department appreciates the community’s support and cooperation during these essential maintenance operations. For further inquiries, contact Noodle Perkins or Luke Morgan at 541-523-6417 or via email at bcroad@bakercountyor.gov.
