BAKER CITY – (Release from Baker City Public Works) Road work on Washington Avenue will continue this week.Work will include pre-level paving, fabric layers, and paving to improve Washington Avenue. This work will continue until September 3, 2021. Until then, please do not drive or park along Washington Avenue when barricades are in place between Birch Street and Clark Street. Barricades will be moved for weekend traffic and replaced during the work week. Make sure ALL vehicles are removed prior to Monday morning. The timeline of the project is:
Tuesday – Thursday, August 24-26, 2021: Pre-level paving of the roadway will begin on Washington from Birch to Clark.
Monday, August 30, 2021: Fabric layer will be placed starting at 6:30 a.m. from Birch to Oak.
Tuesday – Thursday, August 31 – September 2, 2021: Paving will occur from Birch to Oak.
Friday, September 3, 2021: Paving from Oak to Clark will be finished.
Please remember there will be NO on street parking or driving available during the week.
Should inclement weather conditions or mechanical issues arise, the work will be rescheduled for the next available work day.
