RICHLAND — Schools in the Richland School District will resume normal operations on Friday, Feb. 18.
The district said until then the mandate remains in place for indoor spaces and masks will be required for those entering schools. Masks will also be required on school buses beyond March 21 as required by federal COVID-19 requirements for public transportation.
The school board voted 4 to 1 Thursday night in favor of reinstating a mask mandate in its schools until March 21. The decision aligns district policy with state requirements allowing students and staff to return to in-person learning.
On Tuesday, Feb. 15, the board voted to make masks a choice in Richland schools.
