Richland police investigate fatal New Year’s Eve shooting

RICHLAND, Washington – Detectives from the Richland Police Department have finished processing the scene of a deadly shooting on New Year’s Eve. Authorities say the suspect(s) are still outstanding and that the investigation remains active.

At approximately 9 p.m. Saturday, Richland police were dispatched to the area of 1702 Jadwin Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a man, said to be between 19 and 22 years old with multiple gunshot wounds. Medics attempted lifesaving measures at the scene, however the man succumbed to his injuries.

Witnesses reported multiple people leaving the area at the time of the incident. RPD said there is no active threat to the public. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact RPD’s non-emergency dispatch at 509-628-0333.
