Rhonda Griffin, Communications Manager for the La Grande Police Department, honored by VFW

UNION COUNTY – (Release from VFW) Recently, Post 4060 launched the Public Servant Award Citation Program, a significant initiative to honor first responders. We sought nominations for exemplary leaders in Law Enforcement, Dispatch, Emergency Medical Response, and Wildland and Structural Firefighting. We are pleased to announce that we have selected a nomination awardee in the Dispatch category, making this a momentous occasion for our community. Your presence is requested to join us in congratulating and honoring Ronda Griffin, our local Communications Manager for the La Grande Police Department! Ronda recently celebrated 30 years of service to 911 Dispatch and serves on the DPSST’s Telecommunications Policy Committee. As described in her nomination letter, her expertise and dedication are evident in her day-to-day management of an increasingly technical dispatch center that provides comprehensive services to the La Grande Police Department, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, and 22 first responder agencies in Union County.”

In addition to the Public Servant Award Program, the VFW has awarded four scholarships to local youth for our Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen scholarship competition. We will hold a joint award ceremony for all award recipients at our Post in Union, 518 N Main Street, on Thursday, January 16th, at 3:30 p.m. The award ceremony will include a brief introduction, the presentation of the awards, and
