Resources responding to fires following lightning activity in Grant County

GRANT COUNTY – Several small wildfires have ignited throughout Grant County following recent lightning activity.

Thursday morning, at approximately 8:40 a.m., the Little Beech Fire was reported off of the 32 Road near Little Beech Creek, northeast of Mt. Vernon. The fire was reported at a quarter acre with resources engaged.

The Tunnel Creek Fire was reported just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, south of the town of Dayville. It was last estimated at 20 acres with firefighting resources engaged.

The Monument Mountain Fire was reported Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. north of Monument. It was last updated at 5 acres with resources on scene.

The Big Bend Fire was reported just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, just north of Big Bend Campground, near Kimberly. Resources were on scene at last report, with the fire being 2 acres in size.
