Residents in Prairie City voted to recall Mayor Ed Clark

PRAIRIE CITY – Prairie City Mayor Ed Clark has been recalled, according to ballot numbers that came in at last night’s election. 203 Prairie City residents voted to recall the Mayor, against 100 votes opposing the recall.
County Clerk Laurie Cates informed our newsroom that the count is still unofficial, and usually takes a little while for everything to get validated. Ed Clark joined the City Council in the summer of 2023, and first became Mayor in 2024.
Going forward the city council will typically select one of its own members. The City Council of Prairie City is set to meet next on October 22nd.
