EASTERN OREGON โ€“ (Information from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife) In its recent recreation report, ODFW reminds anyone that purchased a tag for 2022 to report by January 31. ODFW noted that reports are required โ€œeven if you didnโ€™t hunt or were unsuccessful. Information from hunters who did not hunt or did not harvest an animal is as important as from those who did take an animal.โ€

In terms of reporting, ODFW lists the following recommendations and criteria on their webpage:

Ways to report:

  • Go online itโ€™s the fastest and easiest way to report. You will need to verify / look up your account on the MyODFW.com licensing page. (Click on the Buy a License button.) to report your hunts. Once you have completed steps to verify your account, choose โ€œSubmit a Hunting and Fishing Outcome Reportโ€ or โ€œOutcome Reporting / Mandatory Reportingโ€ to complete your report. Be sure to go to the online licensing system, you canโ€™t report through the MyODFW app.
  • Go to an ODFW license agentThey now can take your hunt report.
  • Visit an ODFW office.

Information you need to report:

  • Hunter/Angler ID number (located on ODFW licenses, tags and applications). If you do not have your tag or license anymore, call 503-947-6101 for your Hunter/Angler ID#. This number stays the same year after year so you can also use an old license or tag.
  • The two-digit Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) number of the Unit you hunted in most of the time if the hunt area included more than 1 WMU. See the Big Game Hunting Areas page or the Oregon Big Game Regulations.
  • The total number of days huntedโ€”including mentoring youthโ€”and the number of days hunted in the WMU hunted most.
