WALLA WALLA – The grand opening of the newly renovated Heritage Square Park, 116 E. Main St., in downtown Walla Walla is set for Friday. City staff will be on hand to offer tours and address questions between 1-3 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
The $2.6 million renovation project transformed Heritage Square into a centerpiece for downtown, creating a new place for public events and performances.
Construction began in September 2023 and many elements of the renovation project included concrete and electrical work at the site, the installation of a stage canopy, a restroom facility, landscape planting, and barrier railing along the Mill Creek Channel.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Saturday, July 13 at 7 p.m. in conjunction with the start of the Summer Concert Series that evening.
