Reminder to Oregon hunters, most upland game bird seasons end January 31

EASTERN OREGON – For anyone looking to hunt upland game birds or turkey in Oregon, be mindful that most fall/winter seasons still open will end on January 31, 2025, less than two weeks away. For any hunters that need a reminder on their specific season cutoff, see the following list of seasons that end this month:

Ruffed and Blue Grouse

  • Area: Statewide.
  • Season End: January 31st, 2025

Chukar and Hungarian (gray) Partridge

  • Area: Statewide
  • Season End: January 31, 2025

Qual (California and Mountain)

  • Area: Eastern and Western Oregon.
  • Season End: January 31, 2025

Turkey

  • Area: Eastern and Western Oregon
  • Season End: January 31, 2025

Spring turkey season begins April 15. In addition to upland and Turkey, some migratory game bird seasons also end this January or soon after:

Duck 

  • Area: Zone 1 and 2 (Statewide)
  • Season end: January 26, 2025

Wilson’s Snipe

  • Area: Zone 1
  • Season End: February 16, 2025
  • Area: Zone 2
  • Season End: January 26, 2025

Crow

  • Area: Statewide
  • Season End: January 31, 2025

Lastly, goose seasons across the state come to an end soon:

Goose

  • Area: Southwest Zone
  • Season End: January 26, 2025
  • Area: High Desert and Blue Mountains Zone (Canada Goose)
  • Season End: January 26, 2025
  • Area: Mid-Columbia Zone (Canada Goose)
  • Season End; January 26, 2025
