Reminder, Streets May be Crowded During Island City Friday Events

ISLAND CITY – (Release from the City of Island City) Island City is a “hopping” place this Friday.

The Oregon Women in Timber Ag-Timber Parade is Friday, May 19, 2023. Line up starts at 5:00p and the parade begins at 6p. Line up is on S. D Street and W. 4^th Street.

The Island City Elementary School Carnival is also Friday, May 19, 2023. Carnival doors open at 6p.

The EOU Golf Tournament is Friday, May 19, 2023, at 1p, held at the La Grande Country Club.

Parking in Island City will be a little tricky as the two evening events are in the same area of town as well as at the same time. The City requests that Carnival goers NOT park on S. D Street or W. 4^th Street, as the large equipment will be lining up for the parade. After the parade begins and subsequently ends, parking will be allowed along those streets. The City requests a lot of patience and goodwill be extended during Friday’s events. Carnival goers, please remember to keep all driveways clear, as the residents of the area need deserve that respect.
