Reminder, Special District Elections are May 16

OREGON – (Release from the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office) There’s an election on Tuesday, May 16. It’s time to vote! Get all the info you need at Oregonvotes.gov.  

Here’s what you need to know:  

  1. May 16 is a Special District Election that’s run at the county level. You’ll see school board candidates, fire district candidates, water district candidates and other local elected positions or ballot measures.
  2. Voting in a special district election is the same as voting in other elections. Fill out your ballot with your choices – it’s not a test and you can skip contests or fill them all out. All you need is a blue or black pen. Just make sure to sign the back of the return envelope.
  3. Drop your ballot in the mail or find an official drop site.  
  4. Lost your ballot? No worries. Visit your county elections office and they’ll help you get a new one.
