Reminder, North Powder’s Brush Pile is not a garbage dump

NORTH POWDER – North Powder public works recently issued a reminder that the city’s brush pile is for residents only and should be used for brush and yard debris. Recently, some individuals have been dumping assorted trash in the pile.

Specifically, the city’s burn pile is for tree limbs and branches up to four inches in diameter only, while the compost pile is meant for grass clippings, leaves, and other yard and garden debris. The following items, as written in a recent city newsletter, are strictly prohibited:

• Paint
• Painted items
• Tires
• Nails
• Screws
• Staples
• Metal
• Plastic
• Wire
• Building materials
