WALLA WALLA – The cities of Walla Walla and College Place along with Walla Walla County are working together to plan two tire amnesty collection events next month. Essential to the planning is for residents to complete a short survey on the city of Walla Walla’s website.

The goal of the events is to allow residents to dispose of up to 15 unwanted tires for free. The survey closes at the end of Friday and only asks three questions. They are (1) do you have junk tires on and around your property that you would like to dispose of fore free; (2) if yes, how many tires do you have; and (3) do you have the ability to transport the tires to a central location for proper disposal.

The amnesty events are only for households, not businesses. Semi-truck tires and tires with rims/wheels will not be accepted. The events are scheduled for April 24 at the City Service Center in Walla Walla and on April 25 in the Walmart parking lot in College Place. The survey is posted at https://www.wallawallawa.gov/government/police/code-enforcement/tires.
