LA GRANDE – Halloween is almost here, and that means crowds of little ghouls, ghosts, and goblins will soon be taking to the streets during the City of La Grande’s Downtown Safe Trick-or-Treat event, October 31st. As a reminder to drivers and residents, a portion of Adams Avenue between 4th Street & Greenwood Street will be closed from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to accommodate the trick-or-treaters.

The event, hosted by La Grande Mainstreet Downtown, is meant to provide a safe, vehicle-free corridor for kids and families to trick-or-treat downtown at local businesses and community groups. The event itself runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. that evening. Businesses not located on Adams Avenue are invited to join in by parking and decorating their vehicles for the popular Trunk-or-Treat.

Drivers should plan an alternative route in advance and be prepared for greatly increased foot traffic around town this Friday evening.
