Rees-Goad property is on the agenda

PENDLETON – The Pendleton City Council considers a number of items dealing with the improvements to the Rees-Goad property on the east side of town that will be used primarily for housing development by its owners at its meeting tonight (Tuesday) at 7.

Items on the agenda include accepting the rights of way deeds from the two families who own the land and annexing almost 49 acres of the land into the city limits. A public hearing will be held on the annexation. Another related item is the formation of the East End Reimbursement District.

The council will also consider awarding a contract to Interstate Concrete and Asphalt (doing business as American Rock Products) of Pendleton to rebuild the flood-damaged parking lot at Southwest 41st Street.

In addition, the council is expected to approve a contract with Umatilla County for emergency dispatch services at a rate that is18 percent higher than last year. The police department will pay $380,503 and the fire department will pay $103,336.21.

The Pendleton Development Commission will meet an hour prior to the council meeting. The commissioners will hear updates on the Path to Success business plan competition.
