LA GRANDE – (Information provided by Kelsie McDaniel, Union County District Attorney)
The Union County District Attorney’s Office welcomes a new Deputy District Attorney
On Thursday, October 8, Union County Circuit Court Presiding Judge Thomas B. Powers swore in Reed West as a new attorney. Following the oath to the Oregon State Bar, Union County District Attorney Kelsie McDaniel swore West in as the County’s newest Deputy District Attorney.
West recently moved to La Grande from Portland, Oregon, where he received his Juris Doctor from the Lewis and Clark School of Law in 2020. In 2012, West earned his Bachelor of Sciences in Geological Sciences from the University of Oregon.
West is originally from Boulder, Colorado, and grew up loving the outdoors, hiking, camping, riding horses, and skiing. During West’s time in undergrad, he spent time during field studies in the Wallowa Mountains, Blue Mountains, and La Grande; he is looking forward to returning to the area and all it offers.
The Union County District Attorney’s Office is excited to welcome Reed to the team.
