Red Flag Warning issued for Harney County July 29th & 30th

HARNEY COUNTY-A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Harney County starting July 29, 2025 at 8:01am and ending July 30, 2025 at 12:00am.

Scattered thunderstorms with abundant lightning will develop this afternoon and evening across portions of southeast Oregon including Burns BLM and Southern Grasslands. While some storms will produce wetting rainfall, areas outside of thunderstorm cores will be especially susceptible to new starts. Gusty outflow winds up to 60 mph are possible near storms.

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning, with is in effect from 2:00pm this afternoon to 11:00pm this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
