Red Cross seeking disaster relief volunteers in Grant County

JOHN DAY – American Red Cross Central & Eastern Oregon Executive Director Morgan Schmidt was on Coffee Time Monday, and mentioned that there are several volunteer opportunities for Grant County folks with the Red Cross:
“Most of the responses we have on the disaster side are much smaller, and they’re about single-family and multi-family fires.
Red Cross volunteers are some of the first people on the scene after, of course, our first responders and fire department. We have a relationship that allows us to show up and say to a family, ‘How do we help bridge this gap between today, which was maybe one of the worst days of your life, to getting you on to your next step?’”
