Recent vandalism at La Grande vehicle lots results in estimated $2,000 in damages

LA GRANDE – The La Grande Police Department has confirmed that three vehicles were damaged between the night of Thursday, March 21st, and the early morning of Friday, March 22nd, during two separate incidents. The first incident occurred at a vehicle lot at 1415 Adams Ave. The LGPD received a report that someone had cut the fence to the storage lot and used a rock to break the window of a vehicle there. Nothing was actually reported stolen from the vehicle itself.

The LGPD also received a similar report from 2301 Jefferson Ave, wherein someone broke the window of a vehicle sitting in the parking lot in addition to leaving pry marks in the bed of another vehicle, also located in the parking lot. Again, no items were reportedly stolen from either vehicle. As stated by the LGPD when asked about the break-ins:

“At this time, it appears both incidents were cases of vandalism. Estimated damage for all involved vehicles is around $2000.00. Officers are still investigating these incidents.”
